ASSESSMENTS FOR
THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION
BEVAC Consulting Engineers started
its assessments for the European Commission in 1989.
Its specific knowledge made BEVAC the selected candidate for
the European research programs in the area of telematics for transport.
BEVAC could, through these assignments, further expand its experience
on the European scale.
More specific, this variety of high technological projects and assessments
allowed BEVAC to accumulate the most up-to-date knowledge with respect
to the developments in the field of electronic payment and electronic information
carriers.
Main projects:
· Expert - Project manager at the Transport Telematics Central
Office at Directorate General XIII
· Feasibility study with respect to a European electronic drivers
licence (based on a smart-card)
on behalf of Directorate General VII
· Active member of a group of experts (at the European Committee
for Standardisation) responsible for the definition
of information elements and data structures to be stored in
smart-cards for use in the area of transport
· Expert-auditor at Directorate General XIII for the evaluation
of tenders and for the technical auditing of projects
· Member of the consortium SMART (DRIVE I project), having as
main goal to stimulate the use of smart-cards
in the transport sector
· Member of the consortium AUTO-POLIS (DRIVE I project) charged
with the study on the possibilities of a system
for automatic policing that would allow to inform drivers on
the spot about their infringement and to register them
at the same time
